SUSTAINABLE STYLE - GINNY'S GONE ORGANIC

21.10.09 | AlIVE MAGAZINE, AUGUST

You might remember the Cotton Ginny store of the '80s, the "in place" to go for leggings and drawstring pants in muted colours. Today's Cotton Ginny reflects a fresh, new look - muted tones have given way to bright colours and styles that suit every woman.

Putting organic into action Cotton Ginny, launched their certified organic cotton clothing line in fall 2006. Eventually they plan to manufacture all items using organic cotton. Currently 20 percent of the assortment is organic, including a new sustainable collection that can be easily identified by a simple flower logo.

Clothing made of corn? Designers at Cotton Ginny have been experimenting recently with some interesting fabric combinations. A bamboo and certified organic cotton collection was launched in March, with April featuring a soy collection, and May featuring a corn collection.
